Welcome to Goblin Mode!

In Goblin Mode, you are the producer of a hit internet podcast with millions of adoring fans tuning in each day to watch the show LIVE! The only obstacle to your show's unending success? The host is secretly a goblin, and the audience CAN'T know! It's your job to quickly intervene when things go awry, and prevent your boss, Gobathan, from going completely Goblin Mode.

Lovingly (and very loosely) inspired by the H3 Podcast, and the crew that keeps it all together. Made for UCSC's ARTG 170-01 "Monster Mash!" game jam.

How to Play

Goblin mode is a quick and simple visual novel, and lines can be advanced with either mouse clicks, or by hitting the space bar or the enter key. HOWEVER, this game uses quick-time response events, which are easier when using the mouse. If you choose to use the keyboard instead, use the up and down arrow keys to navigate response options, and use the enter key to confirm your selection.

For accessibility purposes, the "Back" button is always at the bottom of the screen if you want to use it, but for narrative purposes it is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to not go back and change your responses, even if you failed to respond to the quick-time event fast enough. You can always play the game a second or third time to explore different narrative paths!
